Race Report

The Milan Rally Show ended with a positive outcome on 29th July and the smart EQ fortwo e-cup championship gave a great show in the four special stages that the drivers faced across the three different circuits set up for the occasion .

The action on Sunday began at "IL CENTRO" of Arese, and then moved for the two central tests at the ‘Park Experience Area Expo’, finishing at the Velodromo Vigorelli (City Life Area) where the 14 crews remaining in the race entertained the crowds.

Success in Milan, in which an electric mono-brand championship participated, was achieved by the LPD team with Giuseppe Bodega and Marco Panzavuota, who got the best lap time in 47'42.4 with a two second margin on the second place team.

It was the team composed by Alberto Lembo and Antonio Massimiliano d'Amico who took the second step of the podium of this "electrifying" adventure, while Piergiorgio Capra and Sofia Cardarelli finished in third position, more than 13 seconds behind the winners.

The prize in the Women's class was won by Rachele Somaschini, who, thanks to her vast motor racing experience, achieved a brilliant fourth position in the overall classification. Rachele drove the smart EQ fortwo e-cup of the Mercedes-Benz dealership Gino accompanied by the navigator Luana Boero.

The Junior class was won by Silvia Simoni (Merfina), the only junior driver on track after Gianalberto Coldani left the first special stage of the weekend.

Finally, in the Senior class, was Alberto Lembo.

This second round of the smart EQ fotwo e-cup championship ended with great success and a lot of fun where drivers were able to show their skills in front of the crowds attending the Milan Rally Show.

The trophy will be back on track Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September during the third round at the Autodromo di Vallelunga (Campagnano - Rome) where the "zero-emission" city cars will return to the track
